Default HELP: Cam gear removal

I used the search button, and searched on google and came up with nothing. There weren't even detailed directions in the helms manual .

Basically what I need is, instructions on how to get those little bastards off. I'm driving myself mad, and I don't want to do any damage do the engine. Engine is a B18C5.

Thanks for the help.

If you can get an impact gun (pneumatic or electric) in there with a shallow 1/2" drive socket, then I'd do that.

A lot of times, I resort to simply removing the cams and then using the impact.

Assuming the timing belt is still on, put a socket on the crank pulley and have someone hold it. You can then use a 14mm on the crank pulley bolt. Alternatively, wrap a (large) screwdriver in a rag and put it through the hole in the cam gear and brace it (gently) against the head. The first method is a little nicer.
