Default Help, Calipers stuck compressed!!

I was driving home from work in traffic yesterday, and I realized that it was harder and harder to get going, and my car seemed slower. I didnt think anything of it until I started smelling something coming from my car. I pulled over in traffic and my brakes were smoking. I got in the car and kept going, and it was getting worse. After a while as soon as I let off the gas, my car would immedietally stop, and when I started going, I could hear the front breaks grinding. It got to the point that the only gear that I could go in to move at all was 1st, and driving in 1st gear was overheating my cra. I pulled over and jacked the front up, and could not turn my front wheels, even though I was in neutral. My brakes had clamped down and were stuck. What could have caused this and how do I fix it??

Do you think it could be the booster or master cylinder?

check your rear brakes if the brake return springs are not working properly your calipers will not retract.

HOWEVER

I think you need to replace your caliper pins and lube them up.

I doubt it is your M/C, mos tlikely it is your return spring that is shot inside the brake booster causing your brakes to be applied all the time

the weird thing is the rear brakes are not locking up, just the fronts, so u think its the caliper pins huh, sounds feasable. thanks.

start simple first.

But upon further consideration I think it is in the brake booster no return = brake drag

is it only wearing one side of the pads off?(inside or outside pad) if not, then its possible one of your brake hoses have come apart inside. could also just be the capiper not releasing. loosen your brake line before the rubber line, and at the caliper and see if it releases the pressure. if it releases before the line, its soemthing like proportioning valve or master cyl, but if it releases when you loosen the caliper end of the hose its probably the line.
