Default help....b16a

guys i just bought a b16 for 800cdn its a first gen. but i just put it in my car and it wont start theres no codes. spark, gas, timming is perfect. but the guy i bought this engine from said it hasnt ran in a long time. so i did a compression test and gave me 30,55 ,45,35. and when i turn it over theres alot of blow by comming out of the valve cover. what i think is the valves are caroded since it hasnt ran in so long.have any of you ever had this problem or does any one know of any kind of cleaner i could put it there i really dont fee like pulling of the head
thanks

With compression numbers like that, you are going to need much more than a cleaner. I think you have no choice but to tear the motor apart. Sorry to say, but you got a junk motor. Try pouring a cap full of oil into each cylinder and see if the compression comes up. If so, the rings are bad. If not, the valves are probably the culprit. Just how long was the motor sitting? In what kind of enviroment?

800 cdn for a B16? That's suspiciously cheap.... I paid 2000 for my swap, but I got a good engine. Anyways, yeah, try the oil trick and see what happens. could be the rings, or maybe even the valves.

the engine was sitting for 6 months on a garage floor. im hoping i dont have to take the engine out again but i will put the oil and try again, anyway im off to work. ill let you guys know what happends

Yeah, sounds like you took in the *** on this one........30 is waaaaaaay too low of a pressure number. Id take it back seriously. Why waste your time tearing it doen to spend more money when they should give you your money back and find a new one. to me it sounds like the valves are bad.

k today i finally got the car to run. i put the one cap of oil in each cylinder put new plugs in and it almost started but it didnt the i bought a can of intake and sprayed it in and it started first shot.holy **** i didnt think one cap of oil in a cylinder could smoke like that.but anyway i let it run for about a hour and check the compresion again and they where all above 80 so i go to try the car and the car is cutting out at 3500rpm, i checked the wiring for the distributer and everything was alright. is the distibuter my problem. has anyone ever had this problem?/????
