Help ASAP please...car won't start
So i'm hooking up my new MSD wires to my new MSD cap and a new rotor as well. I forget the order that the plugs go to on the cap. Does this make a difference?
To make a long story short, I made a 20 minute job into a 2+ hour one. I can't start the car now. All of the plug connections and wires look and feel secure. I didn't have an extension long enough to take out the plugs but I did change the wires. The plugs were changed last week but I just got the new wires in.
The car doesn't start at all now; with the old cap and the old wires either. I'm really confused as to what's causing this. It's misfiring and I also heard a loud noise similar to a gunshot when I tried to start it up. I know this isn't good. Is this b/c I have the plugs in the wrong order going to the cap?
Another problem I'm having is that I can't get the rotor off. The old rotor is worn pretty well, and looks as if it's been burned on that white portion of it. I couldn't even get it off to switch it with the new one. I got 2 phillips screws off, but it still is being held down by something else I can't find.
I've never encountered such a problem before. I have the Helms manual, but it doesnt describe anything about my MSD ignition and cap, obviously. I can't find the page w/ the rotor/cap in it either. Please help..somehow all of my routine maintence things turn into a project of some sort.

yeah your wires are in the wrong order. fix that and theres no reason why it shouldnt start. next time change the wires one at a time or get a picture that whows where they go. will make things alot easier. i mean think about it the rotor spins around in a circle sparking each plug in order then sending that power through the wires to the plugs....well it has to go to the correct plug at the correct time....ie...intake, compression, power , exhaust.
Dude! You have the manual right there. Don't be so lazy.
Just go throught it and find it. I have seen it in there before
so just look through the entire book if you have to.
Sorry to sound like you dad, but if you have the resources
right there then you shouldn't even have to ask. And yes
having the plugs in the right order is extremely important.
There I've said my .02

I wish it was my HX but, it is only a pic that I found.....unless you are talking about my ICON then it is my HX. And I would also have a bigger radiator.
I am going to do the B18C5 on the HX and my EX is getting the Turbo and staying SOHC.
