starts vroom dies........ somitime i have to start 2-3 times and step on gas then let off and see if it stays running or no? aem short ram and spoon egaust. only mods?? any ideas??? sometime starts fine ??

mass air flow? o2 sensor? any help appreciated

 

Hmm, you have to be a little more specific on a few things. First and foremost. Please title your posts better. It will attract a lot more attention this way.

I was bored during my job hunt, you're lucky.

Does your car throw any codes? (i.e.: is the Check Engine Light/CEL on?) Your sentence structure is very confusing. When you start it, it dies right away, correct? If you start it, but step on the gas, it stays on? Or does it die again? Or does it die after you release the gas?

I have a feeling you do NOT have a Spoon exhaust, but that's irrelevant. Your car doesn't not have a mass air flow sensor. It has a MAP, or a Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor. If that, or your O2 were malfunctioning/damaged, your car would throw a CEL light.

In that case, you should follow the thread at the top of the Civic forum to learn how to read/check your codes.

 

sorry , yes starts and dies, but if i start a second time it may die may not,

but if i start a second time and step on the gas when i let off it stays running (so far every time. i had an enging light go on 1ce and it went right back off.. only happened once.. so far.. and yes it is only a spoon axleback and every thing up to and including the header is still stock..

 

Here are another few questions. After the car is warmed up, and you shut it off. Does it turn on on the first shot and stay on?

When the car is idling, especially when you just turn it on, does it seem like it's struggling to stay on? Is it idling very low?

 

if it is warmed up it starts perfect...and it never runs badly, or rough???

im wondering ??????????? ive noticed when it starts fine it idles about 2k
then once its warming up it idels less between 0-1k or a little higher. but still nice and smooth> but when it does not stay running or i say key on then dies out its almost as the fast idle is not kicking in???? but i dont know too much ive been a nissan guy for years this is my second honda.

and i may say im more than glad to be back...........................
