Default heat shields

do they really work? i found a couple on ebay(pics from ebay as well).



i want one if they serve a purpose other than cosmetic.

for the same amount you pay for one of those why not just put that money towards a CAI?

i already have one, but for the winter time i use the shortram. and also a friend told me that when im done with my car im going to want the higher flow of a 3" shortram

i wouldnt worry about it because in the winter you dont really need performance anyways unless you live in AZ like me

after i have the work done, im probably going to use the shortram all the time. have you heard if the heat shields do anything?

those bare metal "heatshields" seems like it'll absorb heat making it useless

heat shields are making someone alot of money...whether ur going to use one or not ur going to be sucking in hot air in the engine bay anyways
