Default Heat shield

What is the simplest and cheapest way to make a heat shield for an intake in my 97 Civic? And will the heat shield really help in a 97 Civic? Thanks for any help. Also, does anybody know if the fan that goes into the intake tube really works, it claims to give 35hp gains or some crazy **** like that. The website is http://www.turbonator.com. Thanks
