Default Headgaskets

For example: the mugen 2ply headgasket, which a (typeR?) compression from 11.1 to 11.4. Does applying a new part such as this instantly increase power because of the compression? Im still learning how an all- motor setup works and evolves. What exactly would this gasket do if placed on a pretty stock motor? thanks, jake

Default Re: Headgaskets (OVRsi)

It will up the compression about .4 or .5, and on any motor, when the compression is raised, it will create more of a push down on the piston when the mixture is burned, thus creating more power.

With a thinner headgasket, the head is just slightly closer to the block, being less combustion chamber volume, and more compression.
