Headgasket
Whats a good Headgasket to raise my compression with? I have a 95 gsr block and i was wanting to keep stock internals but raise the compression. I know the Mugen will raise it to i think 10.4.1. Is theres anything else that is better or that will raise the compression more? Will i have any clearance issues with a thin head gasket? Thanx...
People don't like the idea of milling the head, because it can later cause problems with cooling and after it's done, you can't replace that lost material. However, I think milling the head just slightly is okay, maybe 10. Just don't get crazy with it. The best, safest way of raising compression is a headgasket, like the one from Mugen, and pistons. Because of the shape of you combustion chamber in the gsr head, your compression will be higher than that of a b18c5 if you switch the r pistons in. Try those, I think you'll be happy!
the r pistons are already in the c5. he has a gsr, c1. All b series pistons are interchangeable. The next piston to up the compression would be the jdm itr, then the pr3, then p30, then ctr. And of course, the overbore version of each piston will slightly change the compression compared to the non-overbore.
