Head Question!
I have a GSR block(B18C1) with a B16 head...OEM GSR head gasket...P30
I need some advice and information...last week I put my engine together with a brand new OEM Head gasket. This week I started it up for the 1st time. It started without hassle. Then my dad reved it up while I wasn't in the garage. The head gasket blew and coolant was pissing everywhere.
So, I got over it and my dad paid for a new gasket and an oil change....So we had it all back together again today. Turned the key over and it started up nicely...Turned it off, tried turning it back on...and it turned over then it made a bop sound and the car jolted...tried two more times same thing...Took all the plugs and wires off and turned the engine over and it pumped out coolant/water.
I pumped out all the water until it started spraying gas. Then I put back in plugs and wires and turned it over only to get the same damn thing!
I had the head and the block mic'd before installing the head.
Do you think my head is cracked???

Could be. The block could be cracked also. Did you use a straight edge to check the block and head surfaces?

Ya, I used a square to check the flat of the block and head. The head flat was also checked at a machine shop.
When I took the head off I left the coolant in the block...then I turned the crank by hand to see if any coolant would seap into the cylinders and it looked fine.
When I took my intake gasket off it was cracked around the coolant port on Cylinder 4 side...is it possible at all that coolant may have leaked into cylinder 4 intake port then into the head? Cylinder 4 pumped out the most coolant...
I looked over the head for an hour tonight trying to find anything that even resembled a crack and couldn't find anything...
Thanks for your help
