Default Fast engine swap/change help!!

I have a 90 civic Dx 4dr. Thats like a D15? none vTec 1.5L SOHC. Nothing speacial, I want to put somthing newer in but I still need the car to get around for school and work and stuff like that...... What can I put in With out changing or making big mods fast? I was told just to get a newer D15 and try that but, They have vTec and my ECU will have to be changed....I dont know if all the wires will reach and how long that will take to change the ECU. What can i do?!?!?!?

first of all there is no vtec on any d15 unless you get a d15b from j-pan

and second, a mildly easy swap would be a d16a6 (si engine)
all you would have to do is run three wires for VTEC and get the ecu and you're set

Just wire in VTEC if your installing a vtec motor.. two wires... VTEC Pressure Switch and VTEC Solenoid wire...
