Default Head Gasket Trouble

Anyone had a car that blows head gaskets at the drop of a dime. I'm running arp head studs and torqueing the thing to 65 with the copper spray and everything. Is there anything else im not doing that I should im tired of working on this thing already.

what's you current engine setup? what type of headgasket? are you sure block or head aren't warped?

may have something in your setup that doesn't play well with everything else...

im running a b20 set up ls sleeved with b16a head. Ive had them both decked to flat surface but still blows head gasket no popping or anything just few passes come back its leaking a little. I use dealer head gaskets which ive seen others do and run fine under boost. My ***** nitrous though maybe to much cylinder pressure at one instant.

what is your static compression, if its pretty high and you are turboed with nitrous you might consider a copper gasket and or O ringing the block.

and every time you blow the headgasket you should have the head checked to make sure it dident warp. Just because you had both the block and head milled the first time dosent mean that it dident warp some more.

What are your operating temps like? Have you ever overheated the motor?

And what sleeves are you running? I have heard of some people having trouble when going big bore because there is not much gasket area between cyls

im running darton sleeves and Ive been talking to some companies and Oringing it seems to be the best route im getting. The motor is 84 mm and the compression is 11.5 with a 120 shout makes some over 300 but Ive seen people do more without oringing them.

you may want to check block again and make sure that a sleeve hasn't shifted or something.

just throwing another suggestion out there....

Sounds like somthing is warped, I would straight edge the head and block, also make sure all the copper spray is cleaned off first. Also double check the torqe specs and order. And no I'm with my team, bsr motorsports in virginia.

Cool I torque the head in and ex from the inside out the way the book says do it I can have both the block and head dcked and before long it will blow the head gasket maybe 5 runs. Im thinking about Oringing the dayum thing and hopefully that solves my problems. Don't like takeing this thing apart to much gets boring.

having it o-ringed might be your best bet, just $$$, large nitrous shots seem to take out head gasket pretty quick, also what type of system are you running?

How's your A/F ratios? I was running a 100 shot on my D16 and blew the headgasket because of a lean onset of the nitrous. Also melted a plug.

The a/f ratio is a little rich for my set up the plugs look great nice browning. After a few passes though the water in my radiator is filling up the overflow. And the hoses are tight as hell.
