Default head gasket removal

I've searched around and couldn't find jack so here's my thread,got a cometic mls hg,arp studs and a skunk2 im sitting around cause i couldn't afford to pay to get it installed lately so i decided to do it myself, but before i get started i got a few questions,and please correct me if im wrong,i need to put motor at tdc. before i start,how do i get the timing belt of? what should i use to clean excessive dirt like carbon build up and i don't want to mess my timing up since that's my daily driver ,any input is greatly appreciated.

to get the Timing belt off you loosen the Tensioner pulley and yes you are correct the motor and the head must be at TDC

by a helms, or if ur tight for cash, a haynes, it will tell u everything u need to know

or save up some cash and have a shop do it.

i dont know what helms is but i do have haynes book and a cd bout integras but the way they do it is by taking off a lot of parts when some friends of mine did it much easier

follow the book......as u go u will find short cuts or steps that u might be able to over look but for the most part do as they say........its better to take longer and do it right then to skip every thing and screw it up......besides the more u take off, the more u learn about
