Default Head gasket re-use question

I have my h22 all built up and have decided to have a little more headwork done the problem is the gasket has been used but for zero miles if that makes sense i.e. crushed. It is a cometic stainless steel gasket. Im running forced induction and darton sleeves if that makes any odds

not worth the risk a crushed headgasket seals as good as the cardboard sheet it was packaged on.

Once the gasket has been torqued its done. Its a 1 time use deal, dont be cheap and try to reuse it.

Thanks for the replies guys. I do have a brand new motor factors head gasket I guess my question should have been, brand new motor factors headgasket or used cometic headgasket.

does the fact its stainless steel make any odds? Im sure I read somewhere the cometic gaskets can be re used.

The block has been decked and the head has been skimmed if that makes any odds.

Im going to go with a new headgasket anyhows

Any head gasket can be re-used, I've seen it done several times. People just like to tell you the correct way to do things, which in this case, would be to use the new gasket.

Yup, I also have re-used headgaskets before without any problems.

You can reuse that thing no problem. Ideally, you would want to replace it--but Cometics are quite expensive--I think I use to pay $80 for 79mm 0.030" d16 HG.

Ive spoke to my engine builder and he is happy to reuse it. I'd prefer to go with the reused cometic than the brand new motor factors gasket. Im just trying to save soem money really but trying to also make sure I dont get bitten in the *** later down the line.

You can reuse the headgasket if the sealer "black stuff" on the gasket did not stick onto the block or head. The headgasket is made to seal when the engine heats up melting the sealer to bond the gasket to the head and block.
