i plan to get a civic hatch prob a 95 but i dont know what would be the best motor to put in it would be. for those that know please help me out. i also need to know where to get the motor from for the low. that would be a big help too. thank you that is all

 

There is no "best motor" it all comes down to what your goals are.

 

"Best" is a word that I'm beginning to dislike.The cheapest /easiest is a B16 or B18a/b.Then maybe B18c.Next maybe a H22.Then Turbo whatever.
How fast do you want to go/How much money do you have.

I feel the same way ^. Like he said it depends on how much you want to spend and what kind of hp do you want. Doing a swap will not be cheap, but for the money the B16 is the way to go. ok to be a lil more specific which motor do you see less of in hatch's. I thought about a zc but thats only cause my buddy had a crx with a dohc zc and that mother ****** would scoot faster than crx's with gsr's no ****. then he sold it and the guy who has it now turboed it and its unbelievable. but then again i like gsr's but they cost a **** load. at the most i really dont want to spend more than 1900 for motor tranny and ecu. but quality cost money i know this thats why i was wondering about the cheap motors that run good.

 

thats a vague question man, the sky's the limit, the more money you have the faster it will go. (if done right that is) then go with zc and get some cams. or do a b16a they are awesome engines for the budget. friend ran a 13.1 with a zex 50 shot and all stock internals, shot pounds of nitrous through that engine and its still running just as strong as the day he got it.

 

ok i thought about goin with the zc but i cant really find a place to buy one from. all the sites i look at hav all the other motors even an accord type r motor but no zc. thats all i need is a place to get one from for cheap. dont really hav a budget but the motor i put in is gonna be there for a while. so all the help i could get about a dohc zc would be great.

 

yea so now im lookin for a zc motor and i found a long block. which is a beter motor the long block or the short block or is there a short block.
