Default Wrong Transmission?

I've been working on getting my b20b all together to drop in my 98 civic ex coupe. I attempted to bolt the transmission on today and it looked a little weird. This is my first attempt at installling a transmission, let alone an engine so I'm not positive as to what is wrong. The flywheel is exposed and it appears that all the holes for the screws do not line up. The three top screws line up fine and the dowels lines up but thats about it. Do I have the wrong transmission, which is supposedly a 98 LS hydro tranny, or am I missing something? Thanks guys.

Heres a pic of the side if this number means anything.

The flywheel is exposed because you dont have the cover for it. From the looks of it, it does appear to be the correct trans. Do you see a stamping on the top side anywhere that reads Y1 or S1 or something like that?

ok, theres is a little black stamp on the top that reads "A5D" but I that was all my little brother could see. The motor is at my parents house so he ran outside and checked for me. I'll have to look next time I go over there to see if I can locate any other numbers on it.

Look at the bottom of the transmission in the pictures I posted? Are you sure thats right? that extension from the block doesn't even line up with the holes on the transmission. I didn't have much time to examine it though, I was kinda in a rush to go to work. Thanks for the help though, man.

There is an inspection cover that goes over that part of the flywheel, if you go to the Acura dealership you can pick one up for $20, and look at some Integras there to get an idea of what it should look like.

Ok, I'll snag that cover that I need. Thanks for the help, but as far as what you guys can see in the pictures, does it appear that I have the correct transmission?

s80 i thought that was a GSR tranny

looks right. probably cause your old tranny was automatic that the one bar/bolt hole isn't lining up.

yea I thought the s80 was the gsr tranny too, but I found somewhere that the s80 was also the non LSD equipped LS transmission. Thanks for the help honda-tech homies.
