Default Has my nitrous been useless?

So I go to the local shop to get a refill because my bottle was at around 200psi and felt like it wasn't doing anything anymore. They were telling me how my gauge should be at about 1,000 PSI. The most it ever hit (full) was a little over 600 PSI. He said under 600 is pretty much pointless. Is 1000 PSI safe? Also, I don't have a bottle warmer at the moment...any ways I can heat this bottle up? I was thinking about letting it sit in some hot water before I go out, but it would probably cool off very quickly. Any other methods? Now I'm thinking I never felt a full 55 shot due to my pressure being low.

On a side note, I have stock style NGK plugs. Should I gap them to anything? If so, what? They are just regular NGK's. I'm ordering the one's you guys suggested to me tonight. Just wondering if I should gap these in the mean time.

Thanks!

EDIT Just turned my bottle on to see what kind of pressure I'd get and it's at 950 PSI. That's odd. Last time I got it filled it only went up to a little over 600. Maybe it's the weather? It's slightly warmer out...

@ 600psi you're deffinately not getting full performance from your setup.

Get a bottle heater, you should be able to find one pretty cheap on Ebay.

not to hijack, but are the NX/Zex warmers better because they have built in thermostats which shut the units down when temp is reached? And what is the temp that they stop heating? I dont have a in car gauge (just on the bottle) so i wouldnt be able to tell what pressure it reached. tHanks

i used to run with no bottle heater and the pressure was about 600-700 even when it was full but then i put a NX heater on it it keeps it at at constant 1000psi that is where the companies rate the hp gains

there was a big differance with the bottle heater the NX heater when on will come on if it hits less then 900 psi and shut down at 1050psi

the NX heater has a seporite solinid that goes right on after the bottle so it mesures the nitrous heat and pressure not the outside of the bottle like the NOS one does

i love my NX heater it is a bit more then the NOS one but it is worth the extra money

operating temp should be between 700-1200 psi. i use to use a blow torch to at a wide flame to heat my bottle up.
