I was wondering has anyone used the slide hammer puller kit to remove a bearing? I am going to change the wheel bearings out of my honda civic.

 

no in the history of man kind no one has ever used a slide hammer to remove the wheel bearing come on many people have used it

 

what would be the easiest using a slide hammer or a 10 ton hydraulic press?

 

front wheel bearing? press

rear hub/bearing assembly? slide hammer will work

Use the slide hammer to pull the hub/inner race from the knuckle while still installed on car. Makes it easier than trying to use a press to pop out the hub.

OR...use a big brass drift and pound the hub out from the inside.
