Default H23a4 to JDM h22a VTEC not working

The first few pulls Work fine, then VTEC won't kick in. Shut the car off and turn it on and it lasts for another few gears then nothing. I think I wired it right, I mean it works sometimes.. The JDM VTEC only has one wire coming from it, So you're spossed to cross over A4 and D6 So i just soldered those two right to the solenoid. There is no ground like US VTEC solenoid, could this be my problem? I have no codes, I'm running a p28 ecu with hondata s300, VTEC set at 4100 and 35% Throttle. I'm going to clean the solenoid housing out now,but other than that does anyone know what could be wrong?

is oil full? fresh oil?
with hondata you can disable the pressure sensor. did you do that?
And lastly, HELL NO YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BRIDGE A4 AND D6!!!
