all around my vss is covered in nassy thick oily sludgy particle filled gunk, including on the vss iteself... the screw that keeps the vss was never in when i got the motor and didnt realize till recently... i yoinked the vss out and inside on the transmission housing was definitly 'partically' looking, should i investigate and split the case or am i fine and worrying over nothing...?

 

I would flush your transmission, and clean the vss. Should clean up the particles. Unless you have any real problems, i dont think its worth the work of pulling the tranny.

 

well the tranny is out of the car, off the motor, just not split open.. i'll look into how to flush it, then am going to be putting some GM Synchromesh in her.. thanks
