GSR turned LS....wtF?!?
I have a JDM b18c1 engine in my EK civic. I just had the head port polished, and I added ITR inner outer valve springs and retainers. After I put everything together properly, the VTEC wouldn't kick in, and also at high RPM the engine check light comes on. The ECU turned on the engine check light with a code 22, which i think is the VTEC oil pressure switch/sensor. I made sure I have enough oil, I even tried changing the switch/sensor, and even the VTEC solenoid, with no improvement.
Anyone know what else might be wrong? I have also heard something about a certain bearing in the engine might have too much clearance to give the correct oil pressure reading to the VTEC switch/sensor. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
NO VTEC!?!?!

Yep...thanks, checked wiring as well. It looked good to me. I also checked the ground wires, they were also clean and good as well. Know any place specific I should check the wiring at? I was trying to trace the wires from my vtec solenoid/sensors to my ECU and didn't see anything wrong. Its possible I might have missed something. The place where the VTEC solenoid and sensor have been checked thoroughly. The last thing I want to do is to have to take the head apart.
Nope, I don't have a V-AFC. I have a chipped OBD1 P28 ecu. However, I tried putting back my JDM p72 GSR ecu, but it still no vtec. Anyone else have any idea? Thanks

Check the VTM for debris the may be cloggin it. Remove the solenoid and make sure the screen is clean. If there is anything blocking the pressure to the sensor, it will cause the light and no vtec. Bearing clearances dont change when you port the head so dont worry about that.

Right now i'm still having a problem with my vtec. I now know it was because i have no oil pressure change when the vtec is turned on. I held the engine RPM at 4000 and switched on the vtec by connnecting the solenoid to the battery. When I do this, the oil pressure doesn't go up at all. I checked my oil level, and oil pan, but still cant figure it out. Anyone know what else might be wrong with why I have no oil pressure when vtec engages? Thanks!
Sounds like a problem one of my friends had when he ported his head. Ran fine until vtec and then no vtec and check engine light. Replaced all the same parts you did, good oil level and etc. Came t o find out that he had forgotten to reinstall that little cylinder dowel with the o-ring back into the motor. Can't remember between which cylinders, like between 1-2 or 2-3 or 3-4, but it goes between the block and head and regulates the flow of oil for the vtec. Went back in, fixed that and he had his vtec back in action, Just an idea.
V-Tec will not work if the dowel is not back in it's place. It is pretty small and easy to look over, so make sure that you have it in it's place. It isn't hard to install either. All you have to do is take your cam shafts out, and you can see where it is supposed to go. There will be a tiny little hole in the top of the head where it and the little o-ring fall in place.
I took out the cams and checked to see if the dowel was there with the o-ring and it was there.
I don't know what else to do? I think now I'm going to recheck the vtec wiring or maybe even re-solder the wire and see how that helps. I guess I should start from the beginning again. crap...
Who took my VTEC?? Whoever took it give it back dammit!
