Default GSR swap

I got everything, but just realized they never sent me the shift linkage. Do I need to buy the entire shift linkage from a 96-00 gsr, or will some pieces from my 00 civic work? Basically I know there are two rod pieces, do I need both of them from the gsr? Or can I save myself some $$?

Any B-Series linkage except for the 92-97 Del Sol VTEC (which is too short). The Civic one won't work (unless it's a '99-'00 Si).

I'd think you'd need to use whichever set of shift rods that have the appropriate length for your chasis. They all mount the same way onto the tranny and shift lever. The only difference is length and maybe routing it around the exhaust & heat shields.

What's wrong with using a set of D-series rods?

Well the support bar round end that bolts onto the tranny isn't big enough in diameter. It's like trying to fit a basketball into a golf hole. Then the acutal shift linkage is too short on the D-series.

Too bad it's too short, otherwise you might be able to use the bushing from the B-series or modify the D-series bushing.

But it's not just the bushing. The B-Series round end on the support bar is about 1.75" in diameter... this is a metal ring that goes around a nub on the tranny, then there's the D-series which is about 1" in diameter. You'd have to cut and weld

It's worth it finding a used shift linkage.
