Gotta B20 and have a major reving problem..?
Everytime i start my car (cold) it revs up to like 4 grand...If i unplug the IAC it idles at like between 1,300-1,500 it bounces up and down between those 2 numbers...ITS REALLY annyoying..I tried puttin a new TPS on it, but that wassn;t it..However..if i leave the IAC plugged start the car let it warm then unplug the TPS (the one there) the idle sits at 2,000 WTF!...n e help would be welcomed thankx...O yeh i have an OBD1 ecu...is that part of the problem..?
have you tried the idle reset procedure at all? Without knowing the other factors involved, it just sounds like your idle needs fine tuning.
well i forgot to mention i checked all lines for vacum leaks, and i did try tunin that idle postioning screw and no luck...?
you checked with a flammable spray? or just visual loose hoses? sorry, must ask dumb questions to be sure...
also, you say you messed with the screw....that is NOT the reset procedure.
this is:
-warm the car, shut off the car, unplug the iac, start the car with your foot on the gas slightly, start car, let off gradually till the car can stay alive by itself, if your idle is steady adjust the screw to aroun 700-750RPM, turn off car, plug in iac, reset ecu, let car idle.

thankx for ur help man, i used that gum-out stuff cause as u know if the spray gets sucked in somewhere the eng will rev up, cause the higher octane material in it..But i posted my main problem which i did today was...I got locked out my car while i was unpluggin the IAC so i didn;t know how to turn the car off so i pulled out 2 spark plug wires from the distributor...i finally got back into the car tried to start it...and nothin...
I was told the coil could be shot..Where can i find the coil....?
Plus when u say reseting the ecu, u mean take the pos. battery line off and take the ecu fuse out..?

-look around http://www.thepartstrader.com if you think your stock coil is shot and are looking to try another one out.
-When I say idle reset, you can either disconnect from the battery for 10 seconds (positive or negative lead)...or you can pull the back up fuse for 10 seconds. be sure to let your car relearn all it's airflow/timing settings by letting it idle for 5 minutes w/o your stepping on the throttle.
