idle problems!!!!!
i fianlly got the idle to stop jumping up and down. and then it idled at 2500. but i let my buddy mess wit it and he droped it down to 2000! but when i start my car on cold start up's it idles alll the damn way to 3000 and sometimes 3500!
but after the car warms up a little and guage reaches almost halfway it drops back to 2000! i just bought this teggy and the owner said it idled because he never got to adjust the tps. but we did that already. so im thinking maybe vacum leak? trottle body problem? iacv? also throwing three codes! SOMEONE HELP!

Do you know what the codes are? If not find out, its a good way to start troubleshooting the idle problem. I would have to guess a vacuum leak, or maybe a bad TPS, or the TB could be sticking. Can't really say what it is without lookin at it. Good luck though.
i put on a vtec controller on today and the idle droped down to 1200sh. then i tried to adjust the tps but then the gasket ripped so i went to buy a new one and came back. the iacv was bad. it hesitates to speed up when you give it gas. and smokes out alott!!!!
Yes replace the IACV and make sure the screens are CLEAR. In addition make certain that the map and tps sensor connections are not swapped on accident. (ive seen ppl plug the harness for the MAP into the TPS one and vice versa.
Also you can adjust the idle speed by turning the screw on the TB. Clockwise to lower it and counter-clockwise to heighten the speed. To do it formally you should let ur car warm up to regular temp. and then unplug the IACV (if the car does not drop to 100rpm idle then ur IACV is bad) otherwise, after the idle totally drops you should not use the screw on the TB to adjust the idle speed (make it idle about 700rpm) Once that is done turn the engine off and plug the IACV plug back in. NOW reset the ECU (negative battery terminal and the top left fuses in the under-hood fuse box ; FI E/M & the back up radio one) Turn the car on and let it sit and allow the ECU to adjust, now it should idle +/- 50 of 700rpm or where ever you placed the idle at. Make sure not to touch the gas pedal while it is adjusting. After about ten mins turn it off then back up and youre set!
