Default Fuel comsumption problem

Hi all brothers...I just bought a used 96 civic...I find out that the car kinda fuel consume a lot like in highway 450km for 1 tank of gas...in town kind of like around 400km= .=" I just replace the new fuel filter, spark plug and spark plug wire....I am thinking if the O2 sensors have problem..but the engine check light does not up and the code is 0....the engine has 250xxx on it...so what else do I need?>

they might be able to help you out more, as you probably wont find a high mileage civic in this section for some time, and some technologies have changed between your '96 civic and the 06+'s that this section is for

do a compression leak down test. you could be losing compression in one or more cylinders. less output from your motor could cause u to be harder on the gas pedal making fuel comsumption above average

BUT THE ENGINE i FELT IS fresh...do I really need to do the test??

car isn't loosing engine oil at all, no way your compression is going down

never know, thats the first thing that came to mind. you got any better ideas?

btw did you change your air filter?

edit: it could just might be your o2, but youll need a scanner with a live data feature like the one at my shop. try the right forum

no...I didn't.....I am thinking if I need to...don't want spend too much money on it....I had put some fuel cleaning stuff into the gas tank already by the way..
