fluidyne fan doesn't turn on
i was checkin my car out in my garage (letting it warm up at idle) just checkin to make sure everything was ok, and trying to find the source of an annoying rattle, when i noticed that my fan doesn't turn on. the temp gauge in the car was at normal operating temp too. everything is plugged in correctly, because it has worked before but that was because i had the fan switch plugged into the wrong sensor
. now i have the fan switch plugged in correctly and it doesn't turn on. i also turned the heater on to see if that would make it work but it didn't. is there any way to test it? how hot does the car have to be for it to turn on?
thanks.

Your new Fluidyne radiator is probably doing a much more efficient job of cooling the engine without the need for the radiator to come on. It happens.
Just because your temp guage is at normal, doesn't mean the car is hot enough to trigger the fan. If you want to test the fan, go under the car (with the car off) and disconnet the two wires that go to the thermoswitch on the back of the block (near the oil filter). Connect these two wires together with a spare piece of wire. Start the car and the fan should immediately come on.
This will tell you that the fan is working.
If you have an aftermarket radiator, its very tough to get the car hot enough to get the fan on unless you get into traffic or its really hot out.
