I took my car somewhere last time to have my brakes done, and they removed and tossed the pad shims. I've since changed rotors but not pads, and the brakes now hum under heavy pressure. I am about to change the pads now, and I have the shims to reinstall. Will that fix the problem?

 

the pads should help. also remember to put some anti-squeal on the back of the pads.
