Default First time at the track with the Si... disappointed.

Hey. Just got back from the track. I was expecting high 14's, but the best I could run was 15.032@91.9mph, .667RT, 2.31 60'. Track temp was about 60 degrees, altitude is approx 300ft.

The mods are: AEM CAI, Skunk2 IM, DC 4-1, Test-Pipe, Tenzo Axle-Back, VAFC (-3% across the board).

Any tuning suggestions? Is this time decent for the mods? I started with consistent 15.4's, and managed to shave it down almost a half second.

Actualy i wouldnt be dissapointed. thats a really good time for a Si. my friend ran 15.5 on drag radials with the same mods.... so all in all thats a pretty nice time... you could work on your 60 foot and drop your 1/4 time easy.

My friend ran a 15.1 in his 99 si, with just intake, header, exhaus, stock tires.

Do you not have upgraded exhaust piping? Just Test Pipe and Axle-Back?

The best I have ever seen 99 Si's run at Epping were HIGH 15's, IMO, that is a good time. It's all releative I guess... Stuff seems to run slow there....

Stock piping for now. I have an Apex WS Cat-back on order, hopefully will be here on Monday.

Yeah, I know what you mean by slow track... ours seems extremely slow too. I've commonly seen Si's runnin' high 15-low 16's at our track. Oh well.

Epping does seem to run slow... I raced an Si there; I ran a 14.9 (sucky time for my mods) and the Si ran a 15.7. Usually I run consistent 14.4's (no LSD, street tires). Si had I/H/E (that I know of).

Try Lebanon Valley Dragway (right over the Mass/NY border) nice track, minimal rice, and not too many mullets.

An improved 60' will definately put you in the high 14's.

Yep, that 60ft is what's killin' you. A little work on your launch & you'll be high 14's - no problem. What do you rev to before you launch?

I ran a 15.3 on a stock b16a2 swap, and my buddy ran a 14.9 with his I/H/E/pullies equipped Si!

Your 60' time sucks. With a 2.1 - 2.0 60' time you'll most definetly be in the high 14's.

I ran my friends si before and got the same time w/ the same bolt ons except no header, you need to work on your 60ft times cuz I think you should be running faster than that with those upgrades you have done.
