1 more thing... i dont know what kind of fluid is in there now, would it be ok to use 10w-30 just to add alittle rather than only using $3 worth of a $6 bottle of MTF from honda? i'm planning to have it taken to a shop & have my tranny oil changed properly

Dude.. roll to jiffy lube.. tell them to "top off your tranny fluid" they will try to sell you on a bunch of ****.. just say no.. you just need to add some fluid.. it will cost you like 10 bucks ... maybe even free if they service writter is cool.

Or just pull the vss.. you dont have to take the mount off.. just a 10mm bolt .. remove the tiny plate that holds the vss in.. pull the vss out and add fluid.

Your tranny should be ok . if its only missing a minor amount of fluid.

If the fill hole is stuck shut, how do you know you need fluid, and how do you intended to fill it to the correct level?

lol. I have NEVER done it this way. And I don't know of anyone who does. You would easily overfill the transmission doing it that way.
