Default Fields vtec controller VS. Apexi VAFC

I'm wondering besides price, what the pros/cons are of each of the above controllers? I've read the literature but I'm confused as to whether the complexity of the Apexi unit makes for better tuning. Based on the company data, the Apexi unit helps tune at mid and WOT whereas I'm lead to believe that the Fields unit is used to help tune for WOT.
Since there are some corners on the track that I drive on that do require throttle modulation, I'm wondering if I can still fully benefit from the Fields controller. Anyone with personal experience using either of these controllers?

Cheers

The VAFC1 will have more tuning increments than the Field's.
The VAFC2 has even more than the VAFC1.

I have an SFC but plan on getting a VAFC soon. The VAFC is a lot more 'tunable' and a lot of people run into problems with the SFC.

My Fields unit, as well as 2 of my chums units all crapped out on us. Were were also using plug n play harnesses so it was not an installation error.
