OK, went to the smog place ....Not much of good news nor bad news. The tech that helped me out last time no longer works there. The other techs that work there are pretty much "dicks" from what ive heard. So now onto find a new place to smog my car.

But I think my car is no longer running lean. I was advised to pull the J1 jumper and run on the stock ecu program. I did, and the car ran like crap and it stalled twice on me at a light. So i placed the jumper back, reset the ecu and it was kinda better. Here is a list of things I've done to help me so far...

-Sparkplugs NGK BKR7E-11 (colder plugs to help the heat)
-Distributor Cap & Rotor (New OEM)
-Sparkplug Wires OEM NEW (decided to go with OEM instead of NGK) - those will be in tomorrow
-Retarded Timimg to 12-13 BTDC (I eyeballed it since i dont have an advanced light)
-O2 Sensor (replaced with another OEM used 02. Ohm reading on it is 15 i think)
-Raised Fuel Pressure (38psi with B&M FPR)
-New Exhaust Manifold Gasket & Exhaust Pipe Flex Gasket (the one right before the cat)
-GTPE full bottle
-Tested Injectors and all are ok

The cat is still the same since it only has about 15K miles on it. Its a Carsound Highflow Universal Cat but im not sure if those are the 3-way. If anyone can verify that for me would be great. That way I know for sure the cat has got to go.

Now the weird thing is that my car seems to ping a lot specially when the engine is cold. Would that have anything to do with retarding the timing too much? Oh and just to be on the safe side, should the cam gears be set to 0?

I dont have time this weekend to do another smog check, so I will have to wait til next monday. So that is all for now, stay tuned...

It is? Gotta look that up again. The stock FPR was running at 32PSI idle. Im not sure if its the same from the DX before the swap.....

I did some research, and my 45PSI was high, 38-42PSI is more the norm apparently.
