failed smog for the 3rd time
the mods that i have are i/h/e and fpr w/guage.
The first time i failed because my HCs at idle were too high, 300 when the limit was 220, all other parts of the test were passed. I took out the sport cat and put a stock one on, btw i don't have any other stock parts. Now my HC is fine at idle and cruise (they check emissions on a dyno at 25mph and idle ), but my CO was just above the limit at cruise speed, 2nd test at 1.19 and 3rd at 1.25, in the first test i got .45, the limit is 1.1. The check engine light has been on ever since i got the car, 93 ex 183k.
It could be the O2 sensor, my dads friend told me to check it by unplugging the wire while the car is on if there is no change in how the engine runs/sounds then I have a bad o2, but if there was a change in the way the engine ran/sounded that meant I had a good O2 sensor, is this a good way to check your o2???
I did that and the car just kept on running the way it was, so does that mean i have a bad O2 sensor? because I could just be getting the check engine light from the header.
What fuel pressure should i be runnig at???should i change my O2 sensor??? any other way to check whats wrong with the car besided taking it to a shop??? any other suggestions or tricks at passing emmissions???
yep im getting code 41,
what is the difference between code 41 and 1??????
they're both for the O2 sensor...
With the O2 unplugged my car runs pretty well, what should i do now??
