Default Failed Emission Help

Yes, I've did a search. Heres a list of what i've done
*tune up
*Installed new O2 sensor
*seafoamed the engine
*installed new cat
*new evap canister
*retarded the timing
My HC reading is still too high. Co and Co2 is fine.
Would a bad head gasket or ring cause HC to go up as well?

Did you fail at idle, or at the other two RPM ranges.....plus how exaclty did they test you?

If you give me the right info I should be able to help you figure out whats wrong. I am a certified emmisions tester and gas analyzer operator.

You need to post your e-check numbers. If HC is only a little high, a fresh QUALITY converter will almost guarantee a pass.

if you failed the idle test here's a tip.
increasing idle speed will lower hc's a bit.
out here the max rpm during idle test is 1100.
I failed because of a clogged cat and gave the guy $100 to make it pass.
He increased my idle to 1075. finally passed.
$100 to turn a screw

what is "seafoam"?

HC standard is 220 and my hc reading was 371 first time and 336 second time.
Tried the Guaranteed to pass stuff also. No and im not seeing any smoke or loss in power due to head gasket or rings. How do you know if your dizzy is bad? Oh yeah and all this is in a b16a3. Max idle rpm is 1100. COnditioned at 2500 rpm.

You didn't fail that bad. I've seen HC much higher. Fresh oil will lower your HC a little and a fresh converter will work wonders.

i have the same problem around how much would it cost to fix these to problems if it was the problem "head gasket and rings" i got some cam work done about a year ago and i was talking to some guy and he told me that might be the problem.

Did the oil change. Map sensor is good. No check engine light. Distributor cap and rotor are new. No vacuum leaks anywhere. No mods to computer. Im just going to take it to a mechanic.
