f22 crank h22 block
i have a h22 with no crank and i also have a automatic f22 vtec can i use the crank from the f22 and put it into the h22. i heard that the h23 is the same it is a h22 block with a f22 crank causeing the difference in stroke.
also if i do put the f22 crank should i use the f22 rods and pistons or the h22 rods and pistons. and if i do put the h22 rods and pistons what kind of power will it produce. will compression be different?
PM JDogg, he was telling me all sorts of wierd shizzle about F/H interchangeability.
I can tell you that of any of the F or H series, you must balance your crankshaft if you aren't using the H22 unit. That's why F22/F23/H23 all like to take a dump after 250 whp - poor balance on the crankshaft.

ok i searched the old posts and from what i found i can use the f23 crank and i have to use the f22 rods but what pistons do i use i have both the usdm and the jdm h22 pistons. which ones should i use. im worried about valve clearance and compression. i heard the usdm would put me at 11:1 and jdm h22 pistons 11.5:1. or should i use the f22 pistons

use the f22 crank and f22 rods. You can then add your jdm h22 pistons to create a high compression stroker h22. Just make sure whoever hones your block knows what is required for the frm lining. Balance the rotating assembly and crank and call it good. ARP rod bolts would be nice too.
you can't use the f22's slugs they are 85mm I would use the JDM slugs and the f22's rods and crank. for some serious torque but yes have everyting balanced. for long term endurance.
