i did a search but im still a little confused. is it necessary to buy a new distributor cap to run an external coil? i already drilled a hole in my stock cap to run the wires for my msd ignition. thanks.

so i just discovered there is a way to modify your stock cap to except an external coil. does anyone have any pics or know of any walkthroughs? I always love saving money thanks

 

Do yourself a favor and just order a new distributor cap from MSD that already has the coil post installed. I have heard that sometimes people have problems with the conversion arcing . I have no problems with my MSD cap though .
