External coil?
The engine is direct import '96 JDM B18C ...came OBD2 and I converted everything to obd1. American P72 and Hondata board. Haha, so my car is obd0, obd1 and obd2. The dizzy is obd1, manufacturered by Rich Porter Technologies. I got it right when Spectra bought him out. They liquidated his stock and discontinued them.
Mine is a td44u and the coil and cap are not interchangeable with the td68u. So replacing those parts is problematic...hense, why I'm considering an external coil.
I'm not putting high mileage on either of my car's now. 1200-1500 a year.
I'm running the HondaRulez CoP Mini on my daily and it's been great. Not a single hiccup, no sync issues, completely seamless to the S300. Five wires to run through the firewall. I planned for it when I built my loom so it's all integrated, but Burton Racing does a really nice job at a reasonable price with a plug & play kit: Coil on Plug Kit – Burton-Racing
Solves your issue of needing to find a place to mount a coil, and the oem/Denso coils are pretty bulletproof especially running at 1/4 the duty cycle of a single coil. I very highly doubt you'll fail one ever.
All of the cheapo ones that live in the distributor are great in theory but don't look robust enough to survive in there, in my opinion.
Just some food for thought. You have options.

Im correcting myself, it's a TD-68u. The heat sink screws are on the outside of the housing. I think that means it was oem on 94-95 GSR. There is no sign of burning or corrosion of any sort.... so I've got plenty of time to consider ALL options.
