Default Exceeding max load on tires

Friend just tried ordering some Potenza SO-3 Pole Positions from Tirerack online for her Civic Si on stock rims, and she got a call back from Tirerack saying they WONT SELL to her because the car exceeds the 1047lb per tire max load capacity. They do not want to be liable for selling it. Anyone care to comment on this, or offer a differing opinion? And the Tirerack rep said they would check if she tried to order it for a different car.

I would guess that they have mistaken her si for some suv or something or some new worker didn't know what he was talking about.
