Default Engine temp

Ok I have a 92' EG6, stock, 100k miles, and it over heats. The needle climbs up when I drive it in stop and go traffic. when I get on the freeway the needle moves up and down as I drive. The temp is lower at high speeds, like 90+. I have changed the water pump, the thermostat, and the radiator(used but worked in the previuos car). What the hell. I need help....

sounds like you have air in your system, your motor should have a bleeder on the motor on the neck that conects to your upper radiator hose. Unscrew it a bit untill coolent and/or air starts coming out. When its a steady stream of colent and no ait, your system is fully bleed.

make sure your fan is coming on. you could also have a bad engine ground causing the gauge to fluctuate.

there is also the possibility of a blown headgasket. Drain your system, then start the car and if you see a steady stream of bubbles you have a blown headgasket....

Do I drain, refill, Bleed, and fill again? Also I notice that the water was brownish. The water bubbled up when I refill it after it overheated. I asume that the bubbles are from the overheating....
