Morning chill weather affect the engine wokring temperature
it is getting chilling in the morning around 40F and i have to drive 15 miles on highway and 5 miles on local streets to get to work everyday.i noitce when i am driving on the highway. the temp gauge wont reach its normal working temp..but as soon as i get off highway and drive on local streets. stop and go traffic..the temp gague is back to normal engine working temp..
i guess this is nomal..just need to hear from u guys.

When its cold the wind chills are even colder. With that being said your engine is being hit with very cold weather that wont allow it to go higher then opt temp (180) More then likely if its 40*F then the engine is probably running at about 160*F - 150*F thats why when you stop moving it goes back to normal, around 180*F. Your fine.
