i was talking to my mechanic and he thinks my problem is that i re-used my IM gasket so im gonna get some carb cleaner and see if i can get the idle to change when spray the stuff on the IM gasket.

im still not sure wuts causing the bogging, changing the ignitor = replacing the whole dizzy right?

when you change the ignitor just open up the dizzy... it's being held on by 2 screws once you remove the cap and dust cover and whatnot. try borrowing someones to see if it is the ignitor. if not check if there's any wires grounding out near the ignitor, when i read up this was what was happening to a couple of people. the link has a picture to where the ignitor is located.

oh i already swapped the coil and it didnt change anything . im gonna check my grounds right now, make sure that my o2 sensor is connected up properly, get some carb cleaner and check for vac leaks again and maybe run some seafoam through the engine and see if that helps at all.

hmm i ran some seafoam through the IM and it smoked pretty bad. Then i ran some through the gas tank and the car actually doesnt seem to hesitate as much but it will still idle rough and die. I think it may be the FITV because when i cover the lower hole there is still suction when the engine is warm.

k i just removed the FITV and tightened down the screw inside and rebled the coolant and the idle when its cold is 100% perfect now. no fluctuations no stumbling from what i can tell.

When it warmed up it started to stumble randomly again and it would die pretty quickly after i would start it up.

so im not sure but maybe its the O2 sensor or wut else could it be?

K i just checked TDC on the timing belt and the 1 mark on the pulley lines up with the one on the lower cover and the 2 cam gears line up aswell. i was really hoping that would be the problem but i guess its not.

anyone have any other ideas? im gonna swap O2 sensors now and see if that changes anything.

just cleaned the IACV and it didnt do anything, i know its working because if u disconnect it the engine will die. Also i thought i had fixed the cold idle problem with the FITV but when i reset the ECU this morning and started the car up it was idling up and down up and down. could this just be the ecu re-learning the engine or was it just luck that it idle mint last nite when i adjusted the FITV?

im really stumped right now, ive doused all the areas of the IM with carb cleaner and havent noticed a change in the idle at all. I cant access the underbody of the IM so there could be a leak there but im not sure. The engien when warm will just idle nice and then it will just stall out whenever it wants.

ok cold idle IS fixed with the FITV screwed back in, warm idle is still messed and seems to be dieing quicker at idle and more frequently. I basically have to stop, pull up the e-brake and hold the gas pedal a bit for it to stay alive.

I took off the IACV and sprayed it down with carb cleaner and put it back on and no change. Timing is dead on and i cant find a leak on the upper part of the intake manifold gasket.
