Engine stall at stop...
The car: 2001 Altima
Engine: KA24DE with A/T
Problem: When coming to a stop, the engine will idle extremely low and at times stalls out.
Possible problems?
I was thinking something to do with the vacuum lines perhaps?
Any help/advice would be appreciated. Thanks!!

i have this problem with my civic and so does my friend. he figured out it was the Throttle Position Sensor i believe. he took it out, cleaned it and bow it work. you can also hit the AC button and it will idle normal, then turn ac off.
Could be a fuel problem, not fuel at idel things like cloged injectors fuel filter or a possibly a dirty throttle plate. When you are at WOT do you have any problems with hesitation? Or is this only an idle problem.

Then you might be looking at a fuel problem low fuel pressure probably. Another words you're not getting enough fuel at idle cause the car to die and not enough fuel to keep the car at WOT, could also be a dirty throttle plate not letting enough air in take your TB off and clean it in there with some carburetor cleaner. It can also be an array of problems from clogged injectors or fuel filter worn fuel pump etc. It could also be a TPS sensor but usually that's alot more erratic hesitation rather then slight and highly unlikely to break or be moved if you havent messed with it. If you have a fuel pressure Gage try hooking that up at idle you should see anywhere between 36 and 42 psi.

well your **** is fucked up then. il go with vacum lines. but the vacum lines would make no sense unless someone connected them wrong. and everytime i've put them on in the wrong order or whatever it sounds like my car has a cam, not low *** idle.

Having the A/C on causes more engine drag and would only worsen an already existing problem, the car shouldn't die even with the A/C on though.

It's normal for idle to drop when you turn the A/C on a 4cyl. car but even though the car shouldnt die.

Thats some weird stuff right there I've never seen that, so quickly turning the the A/C on then off fixes it for you huh intresting.

that is not the answer. have you tried having the alternator tested? it may possibly be an electrical issue. in hondas, we have an electrical load detector. when the alternator is about to take a ****, these symptoms can happen.
