Default engine squeeling

aight, I just dropped in a 95 GSR in my crx, I have yet to get the motor started. But while messin around with it, I noticed a squeel coming from the motor when I turn the crankpulley. I took the timing belt off the cam gears so I know it's coming from the bottom end. Also, it will only squeel when cylinder #1 and #4 are on its upward travel. Is this something I should be concerned about?

no
thats just the sound an engine makes when you turn it by hand. (unless the sound is EXTREMLEY loud, if its a quiet phsssssss sound on the compression stroke, its normal)

dry rings maybe? drop a litle oil in each cylinder (may as well do a comp test too) and see if it stops or gets quieter. I bet thats it. unless it is air rushing in and out then it is normal.

I wouldn't be worried about it untill you start the motor. So long as you can turn the motor by hand smoothly then you're fine.
