Just did a compression check on my motor. How do these #'s sound?

Really easy to do except I got a little adapter stuck in one of the hole, and still need to get that out. BTW, this engin has a little under 220,000 miles on it. IDK if it was rebuilt or not at one point but if it wasn't I'd say that it is doing damn fine for its age. Another reason why it was owned by a family with a mechanic in it throughout it's life. I know the people very well that how I know. Also what is the stuff you put on the threads to make the lock so I can get that adapter peice out? How do these numbers sound for boost?

If its not boosted thats not very surprising. If its been boosted for awhile that is fairly good depending on the level of power it is making. Sounds like #2 (if the numbers are given with you looking at the motor and most books start numbering from right to left) is a little weak. That is not surprising however, as that is the cylinder to fail most often in most inline 4 cylinder cars. Put some oil in and see if the compression number goes up or down in that cylinder.

Got the bit to the compression test kit out. Used the red threadlock and let it sit for 20 minutes. Came right out and is still really hard to separate the bit from the kit. Someone mention putting oil in the weak cylinder. I was wondering how I would go about doing this my book suggest some type of squirter, is that the only way? Still waitin on answers to wether or not to boost this engine or not. BTW the spark plugs look damn near perfect to and they have been in there for about a year and a half so I'd say this engine is runnin like a champ, but would like some more opinions.
Also with the greddy bolt on kit for the 92 si, I can keep my AC right?

Ya I did it correctly took the ecu fuse out(was told that control ingnition and fuel) and the car was a floored as it will ever be. Also car was at operating temp, so Im pretty sure it was accurate. BTW That is exactly the answer I wanted to here.

thing is i would have said that if the numbers were worse too. It's a 200 dollar motor so i'm not very carefull with mine Your still safe for moderate boost i would wager

Well my sisters DX had 210 psi in all 4, but used a lot of oil. I had to rebuild it. I would have never boosted that engine. A compression test doesen't tell all.

Ya my car uses very little oil, less then half a court between oil changes. And my spark plugs are damn near new looking after over a years use. So I would say it is runnng well enough to turbo. And like Bailhatch said the cost of the motor is only a few hundred.
