Default engine shaking car

i have a 94 si eg with a b16a sir2 with i/e/h in it. we put all the stock sir2 mounts on the engine, but i dont know why it shakes so badly when the car is not moving. when you pop the hood, the engine is shaking (not a lot) but you can tell because the oil checker thing is shaking. but once you sit inside, you can tell that the car is shaking because the stearing wheel is shaking, sometimes the doors shakes, the materials in the glove carmpartment shakes as well. and its annoying as hell, but it only happens when you're not running the motor. once you start reving on it or you drive it, it doesnt shake anymore, but lets say you were at a stop sign, itll start shaking again. the cold weather is not a factor because it has always shaked like that. just want to know your opinions to what might be causing the problem. thanks

On my old crx it did that. It was all stock too. It was because the idle was 150rpm lower than it should be.

well the idle is between the 0-1 and it idles pretty good, the engine doesnt sound like its going to die or anything. it's just that there's that terrible shaking when it's still, but once you're driving it, it runs perfect, and when its still again, it starts to shake again. i used regular mounts and no inserts. i checked the belts, and they're all on tight. anyone else got any ideas?

i also have that problem, but i have the es mount inserts so i thought that was the cause. i also have a lightened flywheel which also may contribute to a rougher than normal idle. now that you bring it up im worried

yeah, i still have that problem, the idle sits at about 800-900 rpm and the stearing wheel shakes like crazy when im still. when the hood is open, you can see the engine shaking a little only, its not shaking crazily or anything, it shakes only a little, but what i dont understand is why is my stearing wheel and my glove compartment shaking as well. when we did the swap, the mounts was set in perfectly, im not sure why, anyone else have any input to this?

My old CRX did it, and it turns out it needed new mounts. Check to see if they're loose.

are you a girl, ive known girls to over react at times, but check your rear mount, see if its cracked, it might be bad causing it shake the cross member just enough to vibrate the firewall to cause the glove box and steering to rattle.

check your distributor/plug wires/timing, and plugs, make sure all your spark plugs work fine, and they are all getting a spark, my d16a was shaking and i replaced the plugs and wires and set the timing correctly by unscrewing and adjusting the distributor and the shaking has sopped.

My car has alot of the same vibration, mostly when its cold but once it warms up and idles correctly it dies down some. But there is still vibration there even when idling right, but i also have a very light flywheel.
