Default Engine Rebuild questions

Yes, I'm a noob to Hondas, but I've rebuilt VW and Audi engines and I can take them apart in my sleep now

I had a few basic questions on the rebuild process. First: what book or service manual would you recommend for the important specs? Bearing clearances, ring gap, torque specs, etc. I've seen a few "How to build a Honda engine" books on Barnes and Noble and what not.

Second - are their any brands of main/rod bearings you would particular recommend (or recommend avoiding?). Also, since I'm not that resourceful for Honda parts yet, where would you recommend buying said items? Last question on bearings - do they use an integrated thrust bearing on the #3 main journal like I'm used to seeing on aftermarket bearing sets for just about everything else?

I guess thats all I need to know for now. Thanks a ton! Of and feel free to contact me if you need machine work done. I like making car parts

a helms manual

for the bearing part, its just what you like using, i have seen acl and oem bearings work with success.

i personally use only oem bearings
