engine dating

trying to zero down the info on my H22a for parts purposes and whatnot, does anybody know if there are any markings that give the year?

I dont know how you can tell the date of production by the serial number.

There are however date stamps on the head and block which will tell you.

look on the head right above the exhaust ports, you should see a stamp for the year.... should look like this: 9/8
