Default Engine bolt question, should be easy answer for some...

I'm wanted to put my motor onto my engine stand tonight, and am not sure what bolt thread and length to buy to use to hold it in place, can someone clue me in, so I can grab them on my way home from work... it's a d16z6 btw
I've never used an engine stand before, and this will be the first honda I've taken apart...(worked on a few gm's just the 8's)... so excuse me for asking in the tech section, just thought one of y'all would know

thanks

the tranny is still in the car, it's a spare motor....
I was hoping to stop at a hardware store or home depot and pick up some generic bolts...

I'd recommend you stop by a honda dealer or junkyard/store and pick up some honda tranny bolts, you will be sure they won't damage the threading.

BTW... good luck... I've loved to work on honda since my first experience w/ them... have fun.

The honda dealership down the road just told me to go find a case hardened bolt with the same thread! I love when people don't feel like doing their job! first he told me to talk to service 'cuz they would know how to put a motor on an engine stand (not what I was asking him), then he said he wouldn't have any anyways, and then he told me to got to the hardware store... I work at a dealership, and I know parts counter persons can be lazy but Christ just a little help please, anyways I'm gonna call another dealership, but the question remains.....does anyone know the thread?

..Is it really 17mm? or is that the socket size....

17mm is just the head size (sigh)

They are 12mm by 1.25
