engine bearing question
hey guys. how critical are the sizes of the engine bearings, both main and rod. i understand honda makes 3 styles for the diz6. are they all compatible or is it tight tolerance?
your crank and rods should say a code you should look at your manuel and see the corresponding number pattern for your motor and it will say your bearing codes. but you should plastigadge.
Well, you can just through in all green or yellow mains, usually what is done at the dealership.
Mine still going strong over a year later.
This is what came OUT of the motor......

The bearings do not have numbers on them, they are market with a color coding. Some race motors are built with all red bearings (more clearance & capacity for oil), but from the factory they are varied depending on the cut of the machine tools. You will need to match the numbers provided on the bottom of the big end of the rod with the letters on the block. Arrows point toward the crank pulley. Any manual will have a chart and show you how to read the bearing codes.
