Emissions questions?
First off i'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum or if this has been answered before(did a search and couldn't find it) but i was wondering if a 93 civic lx would have a different limit to pass than say a jdm type r or is there just a legal limit set for all engines. Also is there a difference between OBD2 and OBD1 limits. I'm about to put a jdm type r in my 93 civic lx and was just wondering how it would handle emissions.
Also will having a type r make it harder to pass a visual inspection? Thanks guys

I'm pretty sure that all engines have a different emissions limit. It wouldn't make sense if the ITR had to be the same as the Civic VX. If you were to compare the OBD II engines to the OBD I, I'm pretty sure that the OBD II would have lower emissions because of the extra sensors to keep the car running with lower emissions.
Now, I'm not sure about emissions laws in anywhere but Ontario, Canada but I do know that here the cars here are tested on a basis of the vehicle model, not the engine. So here it would be hard to have a ITR equipped Civic DX to pass emissions.
About the visual, again it comes down to local laws. So I can't help you on that.
