Element a/c problem
My 2004 Element a/c shut down and condenser fan was non operational. Replaced fan, a/c now blows ice cold for about 5 minutes on first start of the day. Five minutes later it will shut off and will not work until the car has cooled completely. Compressor does not short cycle and both cooling fans come on.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Does your A/C compressor work, is the clutch engaging on it. When it stops blowing cold is the clutch spinning or not? You could have a bad A/C compressor relay. That would be the easiest thing to replace.
If the condensor fan was not working, damage to A/C components is a distinct possibility, no condensor fan will result in high "head" pressure, not good for any A/C component, because the A/C does blow cold when first fired up but stops once warmed up, I would check the A/C pressure switch and as mentioned, the A/C compressor clutch relay, the pressure switch can be jumped to bypass it, but jumping the A/C clutch relay will tell you very little, replacing it with a new or known working one is the only way to confirm/eliminate it as the problem, [other then testing for signal to it]. 94
